You Don’t Have To Feel Guilty

Onwards and Upwards

Today I woke up and was ready to jump out of bed.

I wanted to move my ass and get out of my head.

Only to find I’d left messages unread,

A warning that my temple was in distress.

“Relax your shoulders and unclench your jaw,

We’re safe and you don't have to be tense anymore.”

My mind is tired and so is my body.

I tried to stretch this morning but I feel like a zombie.

Like a tight rubber band my heels couldn't find the ground.

I'm out of alignment, somewhere to be found.

I recently partied and went a little crazy,

The few days after I was feeling a little lazy.

My immune system was down.

I felt like a dog.

I was just happy to be present.

And go for a walk.

I’ve been traveling recently, and when you’re on the road, routine tends to fall by the wayside—it's just part of the journey. We’ve been on a road trip through northern Spain and Portugal. Long hours in the car have left me stiff and sore, but it’s part of the experience. I’ve been embracing spontaneity, and we’ve had some incredible adventures. The last thing on my mind has been my usual morning yoga session. Instead, I’ve been walking—mostly up a lot of stairs, it seems.

Last weekend, we went on a spontaneous night out in Porto. The less frequently you go out, the harder the aftermath hits, but I could choose to feel low and anxious about overindulging—or I could embrace the fact that I had a blast and let the moment pass. Now, I get to enjoy the contrasting feeling of building my momentum again and getting back into a routine that makes me feel good.

We don’t always have to be on top of everything. Life is about contrast, and even the most organized, tightly wound people need moments of release. It's nothing to feel guilty about. We’re here to experience both the highs and the lows, and it’s the challenges we overcome that make us feel truly alive. The contrasts remind us why we choose to do what we do.

Sending love,

Dani x
